Next Gen Pastor

Overview:

You have a calling upon your life to minister to the next generation coming up in the Church. Congratulations. We would like to help you, to help us in fulfilling your calling. The Gate Alliance Church is located in beautiful Niagara Falls, Ontario. We are currently looking to hire and work with a Next Gen Pastor who is entrepreneurial and who sincerely loves working with a team. If you are intrigued and would like to talk further about this possible next step for your life please send your resume and contact information to:  Pastor Mark Royall (mark@thegatechurch.ca)

Mission:

Love God. Love People. Be Discipled.  Make Disciples

The Board of Elders is looking for a pastor that will invest in our church and in our community. On July 31, 2024 our pastor of 16 years resigned. He was the third pastor in the 40 years since the church’s inception. Currently, our church services are being organized and led by the elders with participation from attendees.

‘Full in our sparseness,’ our congregation consists mostly of ranchers, farmers and their families whose daily work acknowledges the hand of God. We are an intergenerational church with a current average Sunday service attendance of 30-50 people. The church meets in the community hall in winter and uses a seasonal building in the Wood Mountain Regional Park in summer. What the church lacks in material possessions we make up for in character, strength and work ethic.

The WMAC is in south central Saskatchewan, a region full-up of storied small towns and generations-deep ranching/farming communities. The church serves the central communities of Wood Mountain and Killdeer with attendees also driving in from Rockglen, Limerick, Fir Mountain and Glentworth. Essential services and recreation options in these towns include: a Kindergarten to Grade 12 school, sports facilities, art galleries, restaurants, museums, hotels and gas/grocery stores. The area is rich in natural beauty, wildlife and history ready to be discovered in the regional, provincial and national parks which are just a short drive away.

The congregation works to integrate the light of Jesus into many of the community activities and events. The area is vast and so is the opportunity to evangelize in the community, a space to grow your faith and ours.

Send your résumé along with cover letter, three references and links to recorded sermons (if you have examples to share) to: Clint Mitchell at c.d.mitchell@sasktel.net and cc District Superintendent, Bernie Van De Walle, at ds@canadianmidwest.ca

From its beginnings the church has faithfully served Midland and its surrounding communities, engaging with the community and sharing the gospel actively. For the past number of years, the attendance has grown appreciably and is now averaging close to 300 over two services each Sunday. The church gears itself around growing and discipling with the saying "Growing in faith and life together" and actively doing so through embracing newcomers, engaging them with the gospel and Christ's call on our lives, and empowering them through teaching and multiple service opportunities. MAC has thriving and active children's, youth, and music ministries. The congregation is engaged in a wide variety of small groups and bible studies spread throughout the week. There are strong, growing ministries for women and men, The congregation is active and supportive and ranges from singles and young families through to seniors. We also have a changing demographic the last few years as we welcome families from various ethnic backgrounds from Asia and Africa to a small but active group of Ukrainian families, including a church sponsored refugee family. Midland and area is a fast growing region. Midland itself has 18,000 people. Penetanguishene's population is 16,000 while neighbouring Tiny and Tay townships run at about 10,000 each. Midland community - You Are Welcome Here Midland, Ontario is a beautiful little town on the shores of Georgian Bay, the original territorial lands of the Anishinaabe nation. It has a population of almost 18000 which triples in the summer because of its thriving tourist industry. Historically Midland was predominantly English speaking with a strong French element in Penetanguishene, a town 5 km away. Through the years a multicultural mix has built on this base. A little history: In 1615 French Jesuit missionaries established a mission in an effort to evangelise the indigenous peoples. This was short lived due to invading tribes from the south. Today there is a large shrine and reconstructed village to commemorate the martyrs. Two hundred years later during the War of 1812 the English built a fort near Midland to defend the area. There is a reconstructed historic site there as well. Through the years lumbering and shipbuilding drew workmen and their families to the area and the town was formed. Both these industries gradually failed but were replaced by manufacturing ones. Today there is a modest industrial mix. Farms surround the town. Resources, Services, Facilities: Midland has all the necessary amenities to provide a comfortable lifestyle. A wide variety of indoor and outdoor sports and cultural facilities are available year round for all ages. There are several elementary schools and a couple of high schools, both public and Catholic. A well- equipped hospital with an active emergency department provides excellent care. (More complex procedures are performed in larger facilities 50 km away.) Several long-term care facilities accommodate those requiring extra help. Various religious denominations are available to provide spiritual guidance. And there is a newly reconstructed main street with shops, restaurants and financial institutions. Opportunities: Midlanders are found in all the venues mentioned above. They are a friendly people, open to conversation. Be available. Be a friend! Town website: midland.ca
